Propagation

Multiply your plant collection for free

Propagation is one of the most rewarding aspects of plant care. Learn different methods to grow new plants from your existing collection.

The most popular method for beginners. Cut a 4–6 inch stem below a node (the bump where leaves emerge) and remove lower leaves. Place in a jar of clean water with the node submerged. Change water every 3–5 days. Roots typically appear in 1–4 weeks. Transfer to soil when roots are 2–3 inches long. Works great for pothos, philodendron, tradescantia, and monstera.
